How to make Oat Milk Oat, Oat, Oat, Oat.Oat. I love Oat Milk. I drink it every day - in my tea, in my coffee, in my porridge.I haven't had any other milk in a looong time and honestly, I don't miss it. Oat milk is tastier, full of fibre, very rich, works great in the kitchen..Also, it's recently got really cool. Sooo.. yeah. While the supermarket Oat Milk is made to imitate the "nutrient-rich liquid food produced by the mammary glands of mammals", the homemade version feels much, much different. The Homemade Oat Milk.Okay, hear me out - The Homemade Oat Milk is completely DIFFERENT. It does not resemble the animal counterpart in the slightest. I mean, we've only had a couple of tries but the milk we made is more dense, more rich and will probably work better in different things than the supermarket one. If you're here for the recipe, then scroll no more, cus' it's super simple - Time: 3 MinutesEquipment: Blender & a nut bagIngredients: - Very Cold Water, - OatsOptional: Vanilla extract / Maple syrupProportions: 4:1 (Water to Oats)Preparation: Combine 4 cups of water with 1 cup of oats. Blend it. Pour through the nut bag. Tips: Use very cold water, otherwise it might get kinda gooey (gluten!). Be careful when blending, you don't want to overheat the mixture. Also, find some cute bottles beforehand.Cleaning: ~10 minutes. The fun part of this recipe is that it works with anything. Cashew, almonds, hemp seeds - It's all good! It's worth adding a bit of flavour to it - perhaps a little bit of vanilla extract? Okay, so how does it taste? If you've had supermarket Oat Milk before, it will be weird. It's not good for porridge, as it will get slimey when heated. It's pretty funny in tea, as it's quite dense. It brings out some interesting flavour though - worth trying. We seriously recommend it for baking and as a nice little drink. Careful, it's rich!
